The Underworld Saga and My Depature from Polyethnic

Hi guys,

As I'm sure some of you already heard via Instagram, I am no longer an author for the Polyethnic Publishing. I did not make this decision lightly, and hold great respect for Melissa and her team, however I felt like I had to make the best choice for this book series, and so I have decided to return to self publishing.

To be clear, I'm only talking about the Underworld Saga, which was being published by the Polyethnic Publishing, a small up-and-coming publishing company. Unfortunately, it just wasn't a good fit for me and my work, and I felt bad that I was always giving you guys the wrong information, or information about release dates that was initially accurate but changed at the drop of a hat. I think it's important for me to note that I hold no ill-will towards the Polyethnic, and will continue to support the company and its authors.

So, what does this mean for the Underworld, you might be asking? (Who are we kidding, all you care about is Hadrian and we all know it). Well, Melissa was kind enough to give me the cover rights to the original covers to book 1 and 2, HOWEVER, after carful consideration, I've decided to discontinue using them.

Yes, they GORGEOUS. And yes, I love them, and am aware that you love them as well. However, after the feedback for book 3's cover reveal, I've realized not having a completed set will be more annoying and disappointed to most of you than having to start fresh. Which is what I'm doing. All new covers for the first two books as well as book 3! Book 4 will also have a cover that matches this (which I'm putting together now so that I can guarantee that), so while they're different, it means everyone can have an actual matching set in the end!

Sounds good really, doesn't it? I think so. As a heads up, these covers are VERY DIFFERENT. Please keep that in mind, and while your comments and questions are and always will be welcome, please don't just throw shade telling me how much you hate them. By all means, if you're not a fan let me know (I'm not going to change them but hey), just don't tear them apart.

As a thank you for bearing with me throughout this whole process since last December, I'm unveiling the first three covers, RIGHT NOW:

Like I said, please feel free to ask questions or leave comments below! :) I'm happy to clear anything up!

What this does mean or the series is I have to wait for all of the old copies to be removed from distributers, so the release of book 3 might be more like November 10th. That's only a few days after the 2nd, which was the original date, and I've got something planned to make it up to you guys, so check back!

  1. I don't love these covers and think I prefer the old covers (especially because I already have those😂😂) but lets hope these will grow on me! And the most imporant thing is the story right? It's a shame you left the Polyethnic, but I'm sure you made the right decision and I'll support you no matter what❤ I can't wait to read and review Unbound!!

    1. I definitely did it mostly to ensure that I could release the book when I promised. I felt bad that the date kept getting pushed, and didn't want that to happen again. The Polyethnic is great, and they're in their first year so I'm sure these types of things won't happen to other authors and their fans, but I had to do what I thought was best in the now. :) Thanks for all the support! It means a lot, especially during times like these.

    3. Thank you! I'll be holding a giveaway for a set of all three, with the new covers, sometime this month on Instagram, so be sure to check! :)

I'm hopeful this will be the last time I redo these books!

  2. Omg I love the Unbound cover!! This is such a good post. I love that you always update your fans. You are always so sweet and professional. I know a lot of us would perfer a matching set for sure. You don't know how many books I have that are mismatched in covers and sizes from BIG publishers. I mean really... What were they thinking? So the fact that you are ensuring a matching set for all four makes me a happy Bookstagrammer. Thanks for the update. I can't wait to read this. ❤

    1. Book 4s cover is....Wow. I can't wait to show that to everyone! Too bad I'll have to wait. I totally agree on matching sets. It was frustrating to me as well. I know some people are still going to be disappointed because in order to have the new full set they'll have to purchase books one and two again, but I'm planning to hold a giveaway so someone gets the chance to win copies instead! :)

Thanks for all you kind words! It really means a lot to me that you took the time to post them! :) :) :)
