Surprise! (Also, Unleashed Paperback Out)

Hey guys,

I told you a few days ago that I had a surprise for all of those people who signed up for the book plates I was offering...well, here it is!

Meet Hadrian Hale! In honor of the Unleashed release, I decided to draw him and give you a guys a better idea of what he looks like in my head! I might do this with some of the other characters, but I haven't decided yet. I'd also like to eventually draw Ruckus and Trystan from my Amid Stars and Darkness trilogy, but that's getting WAY ahead of myself. Feel free to repost him, so long as you make sure to give me credit! I'm serious, stolen art isn't cool.

Anyway, bookplates are going to be of this photo, signed, and will hopefully be going out in the mail early this week! I really hope that you guys like these. It was a lot of fun to draw, and the first time I've ever drawn one of these characters in a realistic way. For those of you curious to see more of my art, I post it to a separate instagram account @TempestDraws and even have an etsy where you can buy prints!

In other news, the paperback version of Unleashed has been released!!! Currently, you can only purchase it on Amazon, and it looks like only in paperback form, not even ebook. Ebook and hardcover WILL both be available within the next few weeks, however, so if it's a matter of preference, don't worry! They'll be here! The hardcover will also come in two different editions, one with regular black inked pages, and the other with colored page edges, and colored ink! Exciting, right? I received my test hardcover copy of Unleashed the other day. I'm posting a photo below, but please ignore the white banner at the tope and bottom of the slip cover. Obviously, that was a misprint, and I've been assured that it won't be on any of the actual copies that become available for sale. Even with the misprint, it's so pretty! The font on the inside is a little smaller, just a heads up. A few people who saw the physical copy pointed this out to me, so I felt like I should point it out to you. This is because the book was already so long, and unless we wanted to sell it for a ton of money, something had to be done to condense it. It's not too fine, so don't worry. I think it's still perfectly readable. :)

So, what do you guys think? Should I do more of these drawings? I'm thinking about maybe making them into bookmarks as well...? Please comment and let me know! Updated News about Unleashed Release!

I know, I know. Don't kill me. Things keep changing, and I keep having to post about them, BUT, change can be good! In this case, change also happens to mean you may or may not have to wait a little longer to get your copy of Unleashed however...

Now, before you get too upset let me tell you all the reasons this is actually a good thing! Let me also emphasize:

*If you ordered one of the VIP Polyethnic Boxes and you got a hold of the Polyethnic and requested the original covers for the books, your box WILL be sent sometime around the 25th, as previously stated. There aren't many of these, because for the most part, people love the exclusive covers, but for the few of your who did request the regular ones, those will be coming first.

*If you ordered one of the VIP boxes and loved the exclusive covers (like me) those will be going out just a couple of days later than expected. It won't be too much longer of a wait, but they've gotten delayed because of a couple didn't complications involving a couple different people and whatnot. Basically, due to some formatting issues, we won't be getting in the exclusive copies until early next week, hence why they'll be shipped out a little later. Trust me, it'll be worth it!

*The official release date for the paperback version of Unleashed has been moved to March 31st. Yes, this is a few days later than originally anticipated. Again, this is because of complications with formatting, and other things we could not have predicted ahead of time. Things that I won't get into. But I have been assured that this is the set date for the paperback!

*The official release date for the hardcover version is a bit more...tentative. There have been a couple of issues, but also a couple of amazing last minute changes that are the cause for this. As of right now, the Polyethnic is hoping for an April 7th release. Either way, I promise it will be in April, and they're aiming for around that date. It may be a few days sooner, or a few days later, but it will definitely be around then. For those of you who are super excited for the hardcover version (like me) please bear with me! Trust me, getting the hardcover as opposed to the paperback will be WORTH IT.

Want to know why?!

Okay. Here's why:

COLORED INK.

Yup, you read that right. The hardcover copies of BOTH Unhinged and Unleashed are going to now be in colored ink! If you've read books by A.G. Howard, you know what I mean, if you haven't, basically, all the font inside the book is going to be in color instead of black. For Unhinged, that's going to be red, and for Unleashed it's going to be a deep yellow/brown! Isn't that awesome?! For those of you worried about pricing, there is still going to be the option to get these in regular black ink as well. But, seriously, why would you? Colored ink is so much cooler (and they make awesome book photos!). I can't wait until I get my hands on copies!

So, yes, it does suck that the release dates have been delayed. For those of you getting VIP boxes, this delay isn't so bad, just a few days. For those of you waiting patiently to buy your copies, it's a little longer, but still nothing insanely extreme. Besides, the original ORIGINAL release date was late April, if you recall, so you are still getting it a lot sooner than you thought two months ago!

We're hoping to get the third book into motion now, that way when it comes out IN JUNE we won't have to deal with some of the same issues that sprang up with this one. Of course, most of these are because we changed the release date so last minute. It makes sense that we'd hit a few bumps in the road.

There are only a few days left to enter the huge giveaway! Make sure you go do that! I guess we will once I post this. I'm too lazy to go back in and delete if they don't so have fun staring at green bars if that's all there is! If anyone knows what's going on, please let me know! Anyway, that's enough of that (mostly because I can't seem to get giphy to work for me right now...:/) BUT I have a surprise I'm working on for you guys! Well, more aptly, all of you who signed up for the free bookplate that I offered a few weeks ago! The bookplate is going to be a little different from the usual ones I send, and I've been working on sketches so that I'm sure to get it just right! The hope is that I'll have this done and ready to go around the same time the boxes start shipping, just like I planned originally :) These will be signed, and I've gathered all of your emails to let you know once they're in the mail so you can keep an eye out. I will post more about this later on, when I'm closer to completion, or when it's done and ready to go. Haven't decided which yet. We'll see.

Full Cover Reveals + Giveaway(s) + Release Dates!

I know. I've posted more this month than I ever have before. What can I say, there's been a lot to tell, and a lot going on! Especially in preparation for the release of Unleashed! A few people recently had a question about this, so I figured I'd take the time to answer it here, just in case there are others who are still confused...

Unhinged, Unleashed, and Unbound were all SELF PUBLISHED a few years ago. The reason these are no longer available anywhere in those published forms (or at all, in regards to Unbound) is because they were picked up by a publishing company. That means they are no longer going to be self published, but traditionally published. Because of this, I could no longer sell them myself, as that would be a breech of contract. These books WILL become available again, with better covers, and a slightly updated interior. Unhinged is already available in stores in hardcover, paperback, and ebook. You can find it at Barnes and Noble, or Amazon. I'll tell you when Unleashed comes further down this post, and Unbound has a tentative release date for June 25th, of this year! There is still one more book in the saga after this, but there's no confirmed date for it yet, so you'll have to check back for information on that.

But does that make sense to everyone now? The Polyethnic Publishing is publishing these books. That is why the original self published versions can no longer be found, and that is why Unbound, and even Unleashed, are not currently available. Both of these books WILL BE rereleased (obviously) in the year 2017. So you don't have to wait too long to get yours hands on them again.

Okay. Hopefully that cleared that up, now onto the fun stuff!

Just kidding. Obviously I am, otherwise what would be the point of this post? Exactly. Anywho, I got both full covers for the original versions and the exclusives! Do you want to see them? You do! (I know, if we were in the same room together, you'd smack me and say, "Chani, no amount of Hiddles gifs can make up for this level of annoyance", to which I would reply, "Liar."). I'm in CT stuck in this snow storm. As you can probably tell, I'm going a bit mad. But all the best people are.

So here we go! The original was actually revamped to better fit the second cover! That does mean that this version is a little more detailed than the original ORIGINAL that was released on Dec. 25th. However, the changes aren't so extreme that any of you who bought the first release should feel left out! Here's that:

Holy Crap, right?! Hadrian is HOT! I absolutely love this cover, every single thing about it! Fun fact, I helped Melissa (who created these two covers herself) pick the stock photo for this one! I loved this image of the guy covered in what looked like Underworld Ash, and I think the hands are such a spooky nice touch. Plus, his blue eyes, am I right? Everything else Melissa did herself, and she did such a fantastic job! I can't wait to get my hands on a physical copy of this!!!

AH! Look at Spencer! I didn't have any hand in this one, which Melissa created first. Isn't it beautiful? I love that it has this somewhat eerie feel to it, perfect for this series! I also love the colors and the font! I think these two make such a beautiful set, and I am so excited to have them showcased on my bookshelf and on my instagram!

So, to recap, these two gorgeous covers will ONLY BE AVAILABLE if you purchase one of the Polyethnic's VIP March "Be Our Guest" boxes! Frustrating? Maybe. But it's the only way! After all, that's what makes them exclusive, right?

There is also a regular box, which is a little cheaper than the VIP, but that will only come with a paperback version of Unleashed. It will have the exclusive cover, but the ebook copy of Unhinged, which comes with it, will probably be the original cover. So, if you really want both of these (and, come on, who doesn't want that Hadrian cover, honestly?) purchasing a VIP box is the only way to do so! These boxes don't just come with books either, there's also a ton of other really fun and great items included! A few examples are bookmarks, prints, and chocolate! Side note: Some of you may have noticed that the original cover for Unleashed was altered yesterday. This is because we realized I had been given a slightly duller version, which unfortunately, was the one that was posted here and on goodreads.com. Now that it's corrected, you'll find that the colors are a lot brighter, and therefore, in my opinion, a lot better! I just think it's all around prettier.

Okay, so that should be it for now. I really hope you guys love and enjoy these exclusive covers as much as I do! And if you like both these and the original, why not buy both? A cheap way to do it is by getting the VIP box now, and then purchasing copies of the original covers later! There's no exact release date for Unleashed yet, but it will be coming out sometime in March, right after book boxes go out! We're still working at the design and actual book, so we don't want to give a set date just yet. But it will definitely be March, obviously, seeing as how this is the book for the months box!
