Amid the Roar Released + FREE Novella!!!!

The final book in the Dreamer Trilogy is finally out!!! Amid the Roar is the conclusion to Lily's story, and I hope that you all rush out to get your own copy now! Writing this book was both easier and harder then the other two. It was really tough ending it. :/ However, as I've mentioned before this isn't the end! This trilogy branches off into a series called the Three Realms series! Keep checking back here for information on when the next book (the story of Flynn and the next summer queen) will be released, as well as to find when the novellas centered around Brid, Ruarc, Caer, and Bran will be. :) Anywho, that's not what this post is really about! It's about Amid the Roar! Below is a link that will lead you straight to where you can buy your own copy, or you can click on the cover image on the right side bar! Thanks to everyone who's stuck with this trilogy! It really means a lot hearing all of your kind words :)

Amid the Roar Giveaway!!!

It all comes down to this...
                        Who will Lily choose...
                                   Who will rule Bevain...
And most importantly, what is Ronan's actual eye color?

Lol, just kidding on that last part! (Sorta). Figured Ronan lovers would like a little mention of him specifically ;). So the third book in the Dreamer trilogy is complete! It's going through editing right now, but should be available for purchase sometime within the next two weeks! :) For those of you who've been waiting, here's your chance to win a FREE ebook copy of Amid the Roar! Just enter below and three lucky winners will receive emails from me December 5th! The cover was released a few weeks ago, but here's the blurb for the first time below, and be sure to keep reading afterwards for more important info on the Three Realm series, the continuation of the trilogy world:

Lily Bryg never thought she would end up magically locked away in Graindoth with Ronan. And actually kind of liking it. Now that she's bound to the castle for three days, he's let down some of his walls, giving her a look at a side of him she never knew existed. But how could she be starting to like the guy who not only ruined her life, but the lives of her friends as well? The fate of the entire realm rests with her, and in order to become the Dreamer of prophecy, Lily is going to have to start making choices she wouldn't have made only three months ago. Her fellow witches are trying to find a way to help her, while juggling their own love lives and the Rebellion at the same time.

Add to the equation the fact she's still very much in love with both Devlin werewolves, and her traitorous bestfriend is living in the castle with her, and Lily's troubles just keep growing larger and larger. When in doubt Lily and her friends have always turned to magic for guidance, and now their desperately struggling to form alliances with dragons and faeries before the final battle. She needs to figure out her heart, her soul mate, and decide once and for all how she plans on taking the throne. What king of ruler she wants to be, and who she really wants to rule at her side.

Demons and dark fey she can handle, but making a choice like this might just kill her.

This is a rough idea for the blurb, so it'll probably be a little polished later on, but so far I like it. :) Anywho, as I've been mentioning since the beginning of this trilogy, this was always meant to branch off into a larger series. The trilogy will complete Lily's story, but there are so many others to be told. The next book, for instance, will revolve around Flynn and what happens when he finally finds the rightful Summer queen. For those of you who fell in love with characters in the trilogy, I'm happy to say that some of them will be making appearances throughout the series as well. Another important bit of news, now that the trilogy is complete, I'm going to be coming out with four short novellas, each one focused on the Four (minus Lily) and Bran. I'll have more info on that at a later date, but, each novella will have three parts, one for the past, one for the present (deleted scenes from during the trilogy), and one for the "future" (directly after the trilogy). I'm looking forward to showing you all a glimpse into Ruarc, Caer, Brid, and Bran's worlds without having that focal point of Lily. Alright well, questions if you've got them are welcomed, and here is the giveaway:

Amid the Roar Cover Release!!! :)

So, seeing as how the third book in the Dreamer Trilogy, Amid the Roar, has been put on hold for NaNoWriMo...I figured it'd be nice to at least give you guys something. I've had the cover for a couple months now and have been waiting until closer to the release date, but now this just seems better. I've also added a short except below, just so you guys can see a little of what's been going on since the end of book 2! :) Like always (which I almost always say) feel free to leave a question or a comment! Hope you enjoy! And don't forget you can check out what I've been working on for NaNoWriMo (I already have over 20,000 words!!!) by clicking on the link at the right!

Excerpt:

“It’s a Celtic double spiral,” he began, starting with the basics. “It stands for eternal life.”
“There’s more to it then that.”
He smirked at her. “It also stands for the balance of the worlds, the give and take that makes up the universe. The equinox’s; when day and night last the same amount of time. Light and dark. Life and death. These things move on eternally. The only way to stop them is by destroying the balance, but without balance, everything would crumble. The realms would cease to exit, caving in on each other, ultimately destroying one another.”
“Why did you choose it as your mark?”
“I’m half witch, Lily,” he told her, “and half fey. Balance is all I know. It’s the single most important fact. Why do you think I believe so strongly that you’re my soul mate? Because you are the light to my darkness. The good to my evil. You and I will live for eternity, and we can do it together. Two halves forming one soul.” He flashed her a devilish grin. “Lily and Ronan.”
She’d never heard their names together like that before, and more tingles shot up her spine. A part of her tried to tell her that it was right, but the rest of her—clearly the more sane parts—knew that it was wrong.
“This is crazy,” she said, glancing towards the window. “We aren’t soul mates. Being soul mates is all about a give and take. There’s nothing you can give me but darkness, and if that’s all I’m getting, how is that balance? You’re evil, and what’s more, you like being evil.”
She could see his reflection through the glass, but she pretended to be looking at the dark waves crashing against the shore outside instead. He was frowning, the gesture creating a dip between his brows. His hands were resting on his knees once more, and he still leaned forward in his seat as if trying to get closer to her without actually moving from his perch.
“After my parents were killed I lost sight of the world. All I know is the darkness, Dreamer. The pain. I look at people and I sense their ability for malice, and spite. Hatred and vindictiveness practically ooze out of their pores. You might not recall what people are truly capable of, but I do. It’s something I can never forget. My entire family was taken from me in one brutal night.”
“You’ve got to see the sun sometimes, Ronan,” she told him quietly. “Plenty of people lose their loved ones and don’t turn into murderers. Not everyone is bad, there’s still good in the world.”
When he stood her head snapped back around and she braced herself. This was all new territory, speaking to him in this room, talking about his past. Up until today she’d never known anything personal about him. Hell, she still didn’t even know the actual color of his eyes.
He stepped closer, moving slowly as if stalking prey, holding her gaze locked with his own the entire time. Once he was standing directly next to the window seat he stopped, his tall frame hovering over hers. The light overhead cast shadows dancing on his face. He dropped to a crutch so fast that she jumped a little, and when he took her hands in his she swore her heart stopped.
“I see the beauty of the world through your eyes, Lily,” he whispered. “I can’t see it through my own.”

Amid the Roar coming soon! And if you haven't already read the first two books, you can click the links to the right and go do so now! :)

NaNoWriMo Books!!!

So, I've decided to do something maybe a little risky...I'm going to be writing two NaNoWriMo's....Yup, two. The first is still going to be the solo project I blogged about below, but the second is sort of a joint book between me and a friend from college. Though technically NaNo doesn't allow partners (however does label them rebels in a good way) we'll both be writing the allotted amount of words due so...technically we're both still fairly taking the challenge. And besides, I've got that other project going too. I'm pretty excited for this, guys! Anywho, here's the blurb I promised for Turn Me On. I don't have one for the other project because it's still majorly in the colab stag...hopefully we'll meet up soon and have everything figured out so we can get working on it. :) Like always, questions are welcome!

Blurb:

Some people have the ability to walk through the minds of others. While this is happening, the assaulted mind processes the events as actually occurring, which means they can get hurt. Or even killed. Telepathy is well known throughout the world, but no one knows who has it, and who doesn't, not even a telepath themselves. The only way to find out is by being Turned On, an event that only happens when an active T.P has entered the mind of an inactive one. Troy Lexin has been Turned On since he was eight. Stolen from his family in the middle of the night and forced to become a Switch--deadly assassin--Troy's secret goal is to get revenge on the man who did this to him. The plan is going smoothly when he accidentally activates a girl he meets at strip club, who then tells him about a secret weapon the resistance is holding that can somehow block out T.Ps. If the Switches get their hands on the tech, they would become unstoppable, which is why she suggests they take it first. No matter how badly his instincts tell him not to trust her, Troy's attraction to Rayna Kinner is starting to block everything else out. But does is she who she says she is? Or is there a darker secret she's keeping from Troy? One that could not only destroy his plan for revenge, but also the world as he knows it?

NaNoWriMo!!!! :D

Hey everyone!! Anyone out there as excited as I am for NaNoWriMo?! This whole storm thing is totally freaking me out! The thought of not being able to access my computer...shiver. It's horrifying. Buuut, what can you do, right? So, I've decided to finally mention that I've decided to participate this year for the first time ever! I've also decided to try a different project for this, one that I haven't had mapped out as long, just for a challenge. This will be a stand alone novel, sort of a paranormal romance. Basically, it's about mind readers, assassins, and mind readers who are assassins, lol. I can't wait to start writing it. Of course, that does mean that my other books will have to take a short sabbatical. For those of you who might find this distressing, you should know that I've already got the first half of Amid the Roar written! That's the third book in the Dreamer trilogy, which later branches out into the Three Realm series. :) Ronan lovers (which there seems to be a loooot of) should really like this book. ;) Anywho, here's the cover for my NaNoWriMo project titled, Turn Me On. Don't let it fool you, I'm planning on it being a lot more actiony (not a real word but who cares) then erotica, but we'll see what happens. I'll post a blurb once I come up with one, which will probably be more around the actual starting date. Questions are welcomed!

All That We See or Seem Rewrites!

Hi! Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who's been reviewing the first book in my teen fantasy series, All That We See or Seem. It's been a big help and made me realize the editor I had used back then didn't do a good job (obviously). Sorry that I didn't pay more attention to whether or not they did, buuut it did prompt me to go back and rewrite the first book. Some things are going to be a little different then the original copy, but for the most part all of those major plot archs are still going to be there so for those of you who already purchased/read the first book there's no need for you to go back and do so again. You can just continue on with the second book :). I'm rewriting as well as editing. Again I'm really sorry there were so many mistakes in that first edition and I hope that most of you will still be giving the second book a try, which was written after a lot more schooling and has a let less mistakes. Anyway, as soon as that new copy is ready I'll update it on smashwords so that anyone who wants to reread it and already purchased it will be able to do so for free. Just felt like I should let you all know, as well as anyone else thinking about starting the series, that I appreciate all the feedback (including the bad) and am taking it to heart.

In other news, I have the cover to the third book finished! I'm not sure when I'll be releasing it, but I'll keep you posted. AND my book blog, The Window Seat, is going to be hosting a new giveaway every week for the next two months! This week three of you could win a copy of, Captured Lies, written by Maggie Thom. It'll be posted up by tonight along with an interview and the giveaway starts tomorrow. Don't miss out! There's a link to that blog at the bottom right of this page so go a head and scroll down to check it out. :)

If any one has any questions about anything, my writing, the giveaways, or the book blog, feel free to post a comment here and ask me. :)

Hi all! So some people who've been checking around on goodreads.com already know and have sent me emails about receiving a free copy of Echo Island! I figured I should post it up on here before it's too late. In exchange for an honest review, I'm giving away copies of this book! But I'll only be doing it until Sept. 30th, so you should get your copy now! If interested, please send me an email at Tempestadora77@yahoo.com, with the tag line: Echo Review. Thanks!

In other Giveaway news, my book blog has been getting a lot of buzz lately and I just wanted to thank everyone for checking it out! Echo Island Release!

As of 2016, these books are no longer available! To avoid confusion for anyone in the future, these along with the original Three Realms Series have all been given new Goodreads pages under the name T.C.A. This was to help keep the old works separate and to stop the disappointment from people who've read something under my actual name and then asked about these! I didn't touch any of the reviews for either Echo Island, or Echoes of Time, and even left the descriptions on the books and original covers up on their pages. This is because, maybe, eventually I might want to revisit. For now, however, I'm shelving these. :) I'm only updating this for any future person who might actually take the time to travel all the way back to 2012 on my blog. Thank you!

I'm finally all caught up! I seriously can't believe it! After pushing the dates for the second books in BOTH of my series, I can't believe that they're finally done. Echo Island was just released a few minutes ago! It is now available for download on smashwords.com! There will be a link at the end of this post. This is the second book in the Mirror Warrior series, which is a paranormal romance series. This book focuses on Vampire Cassandra Anders and Shapeshifter Harper Donnelly. Here's a blurb:

Having been alive for seven hundred years, Cassandra Anders has made giving into her carnal needs a dirty habit. She's been using men since the day she was turned, and loving every second of it. Known by most Mirror Warriors, or supernatural beings, as a bit of a party girl, it's no surprise to anyone when she instantly starts up a new fling with a shapeshifter during this century's Fundur, a meeting including members of all supernatural sects.

Harper Donnelly might just be in the market for a little pleasure himself, and he's never been with a vampire before. But just as things are starting to heat up between the two of them, other Fundur attendees start disappearing, or worse. Now not only does he have to figure out his feelings, keep out of the way of a jealous demon, but also figure out whose attacking them all before he or Cass end up being next.

Can these two survive their trip to the island long enough to see if what's between them is real? Or will they die before they ever get the chance?

Click on the link below or the cover image to the right to go get your copy now! And don't miss out on the first book of this series, Echoes of Time!

There also happens to be a new cover, because I just wasn't in love with the original one. I think this one is much better! For those of you who were wondering, some of the cover images I use, like with the short story Echo, are from a DeviantArt account belonging to Vandyla. She let's me use her images, which is very nice of her. If you want to see more of her work, there's a link to it at the bottom left side bar. :)

New Book Review Blog!

While I love to write, I also love to read. Because of that a friend and I decided to team up and start our own book blog! We'll be reviewing books, as well as taking review requests from self-published authors! As one myself, I understand how hard it can be to get your work out there. If anyone is interested in sending a request, or just checking it out, please click on the link: http://readinginthewindowseat.blogspot.com/

In other news, Echo Island should still be released sometime before this week is over. Currently I'm waiting on the person I sometimes use cover images to give me the ok on the one I created. :)

Book Release! Echo Island!!!

I know there's been an onslaught of stuff from me lately, a far cry from the usual one post every month (mostly two) or so. I've finally had time to focus on my work, which means I've finally had the time to finish the two books that were supposed to have come out back in April. Echo Island, the second book in the Mirror Warrior series will be released some time by the end of the week! For those of you who don't know, the first book in the series is titled Echoes of Time and focuses on the werewolf Kiley Bryn. This book is all about vampire Cassandra and shapeshifter Harper. The cover will also be released sometime in the next few days, fingers crossed for tomorrow or late tonight, but we'll see. These books are paranormal romance novels, different from my other series which is a teen fantasy, just so you all know. :)

Barnes & Noble Link to Buy Page

For some reason most of the links on Goodreads.com that are supposed to lead buyers to where they can get my books aren't working. :( This has been going on for some time now, and I've been posting a link to the Smashwords site in the review box just so people have a way of getting there. However, I figured now that the second book in the Dreamer trilogy is out, I should probably do something a little more to help people get to where it can be purchased. So, the following is a list of links where these books can be found, minus Wanderers of the Night, because it's still waiting to be approved by Smashwords:

Barnes and Noble link for all books: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/c/tempest-c.-avery

Echoes of Time:

The Coven: uninvited release! FREE for the time being.

Hey all! The Coven: Uninvited is now up for download on Smashwords.com! This is the first book in a new series, The Coven trilogy, and is available for FREE! Click the link and go to smashwords now to download your copy! Getting the cover art to work has been a bit tricky, and because of that it's gone through three different covers already. Smashwords keeps telling me the image files are to small, or that they don't support the JPEG. So we'll see how long it'll take for the cover to work. Until then, Here's what all three covers look like so that no one accidently over looks it! A blurb on the book can also be found on Smashwords.com, or in the new releases/coming soon section on this site for those of you looking. As always, any questions or comments feel free to ask. :)

https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/229295

Hopefully once everything is figured out and settled the top one will be the final cover. I was torn between that and the last one, but I think the girl working the water that way looks pretty cool. If any one has any opinion on the matter feel free to let me know!

Happy reading! :)

Book Two in the Dreamer Trilogy Release!

Wanderers of the Night, book two in the Dreamer Trilogy will be released sometime this month! author name change?

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you all know that more then likely sometime this week I'll be changing the name used on all of my books, blogs, and sites. This means that Chani Lynn Feener will no longer be the name you can search me under on places like Goodreads and Barnes and Noble. If I do go through with this then it will happen within the week, it's just a matter of going through all of my works and changing the title on the pages and on the covers. I'm doing this for personal reasons, but don't want to risk losing any fans who already know me by Chani Lynn Feener. The knew name you can search me under will be Tempest C. Avery. This is the name already being used on Wattpad, and has been for a long time now. If there are any questions feel free to ask. Thanks. :)

In other news, I've recently gotten some more free time so the second books in both of my main series should be completed and out as soon as possible. As for The Coven: Uninvited, that will also be up within the week. Just didn't want to jump the gun if I decided to change my author name. This is a decision I've been wrestling with for a while now.

The Coven Cover

Here's the cover for The Coven: Uninvited! The book is up in its entirety on Wattpad and the link to it is at the end of this post. I'll try and have an eBook download up on Smashwords by the end of the week. It will probably stay free for at least a month or so, so be sure and get your copy as soon as it's up! Keep checking back here to find out exactly when it's out on Smashwords! I'll post about it as soon as it is. :)

FREE BOOK!!! No Strings!

Check out The Coven: Uninvited on my Wattpad, and in a few weeks get the ebook download for free off of Smashwords.com!

To anyone who doesn't know, I also have a Wattpad. I used to have the link up on this site, but I took it off a few months ago. However, I'm almost finished with a book that I have up there and so feel it's time to promote it here. It's been more like a side project, something that I work on when I don't have the juice to work on the Dreamer series or the Mirror Warrior series, but it didn't start that way and recently my interest in it has returned. I've decided that once it's finished I'll put it up on Smashwords.com as a FREE ebook download. Until then, feel free to check it out (still for free) on Wattpad.com. I'll post the link at the end of this post. I don't have a cover image yet, at least not one that I can actually use so I'll have to get that together soon. Once that's done I'll post that and a link to the Smashwords.com page. Anyone who has any questions feel free to leave a comment! It can be about this or any other of my books. As an added bonus, the first five people who do actually comment I'll give a code to so that they can get one of my other books for free as well! :)

Here's what this book is about:

Caley Leora has a lot to deal with. Her parents were witches, their parents were witches. Her family could be traced all the way down to the Salem witch trials. Upon fleeing the witch trials her family was one of twelve who used their magic to create the island their ancestors now live on. There were twelve founding families in all. Six of them left. Six of them stayed. Caley Leora is a witch. Has been her whole life. Sometime's, she regrets living on Wes Melas, an island where everyone knows who she is, and what she is. But for the most part, even with the demon's and the spirits, she likes her life, especially since she's just recently been appointed head of her coven. Suddenly, though, her world's flipped upside down with the arrival of six new families, or old families, and they have a coven as well. And they are not alone. Now, Caley's got to struggle between her attractions to Shia, this new coven's leader, and Bane who everyone tells her is evil. Not only that, but there's a killer on the island, hell bent on taking over. Can Caley and the others put aside their differences, and their families pasts, in order to save their home, and possibly the world? Seperate, they aren't nearly strong enough, but together, they can form the most powerful sect of witches on the planet. They can form The Coven.

Echo Island- Mirror Warriors Book 2:

So, it's basically the end on the semester for me (just have a week of finals and then graduation) so I should have some time to actually focus on writing! Sorry to all those who've been checking here and asking about when the next book in either the Mirror Warriors or Dreamer series will be released. I know I keep pushing the dates back and I'm sorry about that. However, my focus is going to be on getting Echo Island done as soon as possible! It's over 200 pages to date, and I still have a lot to go so hopefully you'll all find the wait was worth it in the end. (That's not so say I think length automatically equates to substance) :) I did say that I would add at least an excerpt of the book so I'm attaching a link to my WattPad where you can read the first coule of chapters. Note that they've been toned down a little from the original version. Like always, questions and comments are welcomed!

Release Dates Pushed:

Just wanted to let people know that the release dates for both, Wanderers of the Night and Echo Island have been pushed back to (hopefully) April. I know some people who've been asking about it so I figured I'd just write a post about it. Sorry guys, but this being my last semester of college (fingers crossed) there's a lot on my plate, including my thesis. With any luck I'll be able to sort out some time where I'm also able to work on the next two books in both my series, but as of right now I really need to focus all my energy into my thesis. I'm hoping to get some information about that up on here and get some feedback, see how people are taking to it. As soon as I've got a plan with that I'll post about it. Any one who's curious or just really really tired of waiting for either the next book in the Dreamer trilogy or the next book in the Mirror Warriors, feel free to leave a comment here and I'll see about getting you an excerpt! If enough people are interested, I might just post one here! :)

As another note: I see that I've gotten over 800 visits to the site so far! I've decided that once it hits 1000, I'm going to offer the first installment in the trilogy, Where Thy Dark Eye Glances as a free eBook download for probably a week, as well as do a giveaway of the All That We See or Seem and Echoes of Time! So if you're interested check out the blog and get your friends too as well.
